Richard Jeffwen Wilson (Buddy), age 82 went to his Heavenly Home on April 18, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Jefferson Wilson and Wenona StanleyWilson, brother, Stanley Wilson, nephew, Danny Wilson and father-in-law, James E. Holland.
Buddy served his country honorably in the United States Army, which included a tour of duty in
Germany. He attended the University of Miami to study Architecture. He started his own construction
company in the mid 70s. He designed and built in both commercial and residential construction in
Alabama and Florida.
Buddy was a kind and loving man. He cared deeply about his family and friends. He was always thinking
of others and reaching out to help them. Buddy and Barbara were spiritually reborn, together, on
January 11, 1988. They both prayed, by faith, to ask Jesus Christ to come into their hearts, through
Grace, they received forgiveness of their sins and new life in Christ as their Savior and Lord. They were
baptized on January 6, 1989 by the Reverend Dr. Fred Wolfe at Cottage Hill Baptist Church.
Barbara can't even find the words to express the depth of her love for Buddy and the profound
privilege of being his wife for over 51 years. We want to express our most sincere thanks and love to
the staff of many angels at Somerby's Memory Care and to all the others there. Our special love and
thanks to the dear angels who were his personal caregivers who became our family, especially our
precious Dell Griggs and Linda Griggs.
Buddy is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 51 years, Barbara Holland Wilson. He is also survived
by his sister, Ann Wilson Castleberry of Dallas, TX, nephews; Rick Castleberry (Karen), Dallas, TX, Mark
Castleberry (Patti) Dallas, TX, Ronnie Wilson (Teresa), Donnie Wilson (Karen) Pensacola, FL; niece, Sheryl Cook, Milton, FL, mother-in-law, Helen Holland, Fayetteville, GA, and Sarah Ellis, our very special loved one, as well as many other dear family members and friends.
