Robert Milton Finley

Robert was born April 23, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama to parents, Raymond A. Finley and Mary G. Finley.

During his formative years, Robert’s parents instilled the values of love, family and hard work in him. He graduated from John S. Shaw High School in Mobile, Alabama with the class of 1969 and the University of Alabama.

In 1969, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly in the Vietnam War. During his time in the Army, he was a medical Corpsman. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal with two bronze stars, Air Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. Serving his country was the defining moment of his life. Robert was baptized in later years at the Government Street Baptist Church.

Robert Milton Finley is preceded in death by his father, Raymond A. Finley and Mother, Mary G. Finley. Robert leaves behind a son, Robert Michael Finley; Grandchildren: Katherine E. Finley, George Michael Finley, and Samuel Worth Finley; Sisters, Nancy F. Mason and Mary Joe Irlno (Jeff); Nephew, Benjamin Irlno; Sherra Carroll, his special friend and host of other relatives and friends to celebrate a life well lived.

A graveside service will be held on July 9, 2026 at 10:00am at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
