Robert Barger Hanson

Mr. Robert Barger Hanson, Sr., age 94, native of West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. He is preceded in death by his wife, Julie Hanson, parents, Robert H. and Mary Scanlon Hanson, grandchildren, Christopher Boyd, Mary Adele O’Brien, brother, Nathan Hanson and sister, Virginia Redding. Mr. Hanson was a longtime resident of Mobile, having worked in the food industry for over fifty years. He enjoyed playing tennis, pool, and was an accomplished steel-guitarist. Mr. Hanson is survived by his children, Robert B. Hanson, II (Suzette), Robin H. Jones (David), Vicki Kennedy (Vaun), Linda Patrick (Ralph) and Mary Katherine Boyd (Tom). He is also survived by his brother, William Hanson, sister, Mary Alice Groover, grandchildren, Britta, Bayley, Jason, Brooke, Scott, Kelly, April, Josh, Julia-Rae, Adelaide, Robert, III, Kathy, Karen, Nikki, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow immediately in the Oakleigh Chapel.
