Robert Eugene Henderson Sr.

Robert (Bob) was born August 5, 1929 in Mobile, AL to Eugene and Blieka Henderson . He graduated from Tate High School and from the University of Alabama. Bob was an eagle scout and served in the 11th Airborne 82nd Division Paratroopers Bob had an outstanding sports career at the University of Alabama.Bob was a retired district manager for Liberty National Life Insurance Company Mobile, AL.He was an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Brave’s fan and an excellent fisherman. He loved to travel, especially to Disney World.

Bob is survived by his wife Betty Henderson and his two sons, Robert E. Henderson Jr. and his wife Diane of Daphne, AL, Mark S. Henderson and his wife Tana of Laurel, MS four grandchildren, Sarah Peters, Kalyn Henderson, Fagan Henderson, and Trace Henderson, three great children, Grace, Colton and Stella Peters his brothers Michael Henderson of Pensacola, FL and McRae Henderson of Defuniak Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Blieka Henderson and his brother Samuel Lamar Henderson.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, August 17 at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 12:00. Burial will follow at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL .
