Robert “Bob” Hochstetter, age 80, of Semmes, Alabama, passed away on August 09, 2026, in Mobile Alabama. Bob died peacefully surrounded by his family. He described himself as a patriot blessed by God with a wonderful family & good friends.
Bob was born in Stafford Springs, Connecticut to his father Gustav Hochstetter and Marie Zugeber Hochstetter on June 06, 1946. He married Jennifer Graham Hochstetter on August 26, 1969, in Eight-Mile Al. He graduated from Mobile College in 1995 with a major in Organizational Management. He retired from VT Halter Marine Inc. in Pascagoula Mississippi after 15 years as a Production Scheduler. He was well known along the Gulf Coast in the Shipbuilding Industry. Bob was a veteran from the Vietnam War Era and served in the United States Navy on the USS Lexington stationed in Pensacola Florida. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years Jennifer G. Hochstetter: son, Robbie Hochstetter (Ginger); daughter, Lisa Jones (Michael); Grandchildren: Aaron Hochstetter, Matthew Hochstetter, Madison Jones, Brandon Jones (Courtney), Ethan Jones; and two great grandchildren: Alaina & Logan Jones: one sister Joan Lang (Michael); and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
A visitation will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday August 17, 2026, at Woodridge Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Dr. Mark Williams officiating. Internment will take place at Pinecrest West Cemetery in Mobile Alabama at 12 p.m.
