

Robert H. Middleton – A native of Camden, NJ, born December 23, 1918, and a resident of Mobile since 1981, died on July 27, 2012. Mr. Middleton was a member of Holy Family Parish, member of the Legion of Mary, Over 50 Club, and Finance Committee. He was also a Life Member of the American Legion Post #48, Hudson, NH. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from February 1941 to October 1945. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance in 1962, with honors. He was inducted into Sigma Kappa Phi. He retired from the University of South Alabama on January 1, 1995. He proudly participated in Honor Flight V in May 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Anna P. Middleton; his parents, Elvy H. and Sadie J. Middleton; his brother, Elvy E. Middleton; his sister, Mildred E. Grant; and his grandson, Stephen Nicholas Little. He is survived by his eight children, Patricia A. (Jim) Flanagan, Mary M. Kerr, Agnes A. (James) Little, all of Mobile, Robert J. (Stella) Middleton, Hudson, NH, Diane M. (Russell) Hallisey, Medfield, MA, John M. (Cheryl) Middleton, Bedford, NH, David F. (Sabrina) Middleton, Woodbury, NJ, Anna M. (David) Roemer, Lyndeborough, NH; twenty-two grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 p.m. from Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Catholic Charities.
