Mr. Robert Warren Smith native of Grove Hill, AL and resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the age of 79. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Fletcher and Cora Coxwell Smith, brothers, Roy Smith, William Smith, Larry Smith and sister, Louise Nichols. Mr. Smith served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Scott Paper Company in sales after 20 years, worked for QMS in Human Resources approximately 15 years and management with LaQuinta Inn for 11 years. Mr. Smith was a former member and deacon of Pleasant View Baptist Church and member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a family man. He loved his Lord and family and was loyal and dedicated to both. Mr. Smith volunteered with ARF and was a lover of dogs and all animals. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Shirley Harper Smith and children; Shawn Smith Jenkins (Jake), Ashley Smith Guillot (Shawn) and Misty Smith Jones (Terry). He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Pezent (Eddie), Janice Fay Smith Andrews, and Monty Smith (Ann) Kent; grandchildren, Jimmy, Brent, Jeff, Michael, Joshua, Hunter, Kent, Jamie, Katy Belle, Gabe, Eli, and Alex; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel immediately following visitation. Interment will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson, AL at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital or ARF animal rescue.
