Robert E. Williams III – age 84, a native of Mobile and longtime resident of Point Clear, Montrose and New Orleans, died Saturday, July 19, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn F. Williams of Point Clear. He was preceded in death by his parents Delores M. Williams and Robert E. Williams, Jr. and his first wife, Ann Smith Williams.
A UMS alumnus, class of 1947, he was also a graduate of Spring Hill College and Tulane University School of Business. After serving in the U.S. Army, he worked as a civilian employee at Brookley Field and for 23 years at the Algiers Naval Station.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William S. Williams and Benjamin D. Williams; he is survived by brother Luis M. Williams, Sr. of Mobile.
He is also survived by daughter and son-in-law, Doctors Catherine and Richard Huettemann of Mobile; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Yvette Williams, Mandeville, LA; Andrew and Pam Williams, Ellicott City, MD; and David and Inson Williams, West Point, NY; grandchildren Isabel and Gregory Williams, Ponchatoula and Baton Rouge, LA; Richard, Joseph, Patrick, and Caitlin Huettemann, Mobile; Olivia, Elayna, Meredith and Jackson Williams, Ellicott City; and, Monica and Benjamin Williams of West Point.
Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM from St. Lawrence Catholic Church with memorial visitation from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1655 McGill Ave., Mobile, AL 36604 or your favorite charity.
