Robert “Mark” Yanen, 62, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 4, 1964, Mark was the son of Robert “Bob” Yanen and Betty Yanen (Massengale), both of whom preceded him in death.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Heather Yanen, and his children: Steven Ray Yanen(38), Megan Dallas Yanen(36), Josh O’Malley (son in law), Lyn Landry(35), Michael Shaw(16), Jaxon Shaw(13), Levi Yanen(11), and Jacob Yanen(9). He was a proud grandfather to Michael Howell, Autumn Downs, Joseph Coffey, and Adam Coffey.
He is also survived by his sibling, Michele Gorman, and brother in Law Mike Gorman, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who loved him deeply.
Mark served proudly as an Army Airborne Ranger, carrying that strength and discipline throughout his life. He loved the outdoors — whether he was fishing, watching baseball, or cheering on Alabama football with a loud “Roll Tide.” He had a passion for music, good gumbo, and crab legs, and he cherished every moment spent with his family.
Mark will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. His presence will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
Visitation for Mark will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2 p.m.
