Rolf Henry Bonnevier

Rolf Henry Bonnevier, age 79, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Wednesday January 23, 2019. Rolf was born January 5, 1940 in Gothenburg, Sweden and lived in Trinidad before coming to USA and arriving to Mobile, AL. He was very proud to serve in the United States Marine Corp and to become a US Citizen. He attended the University of Alabama but was a devoted Auburn Tigers Fan. Speaking eight languages made him a tremendous asset while serving in the Marine Corp and also benefited him in his career in sales in the Marine Industry, Port of Mobile, Alabama State Docks.

He loved to socialize, enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, playing Bingo. Old Westerns and War movies was something he took pleasure in. Simple things like coffee on the patio, watching and feeding birds, a good joke and napping with his devoted dog "Thatcher" brought him comfort.

Leaving his legacy, teaching his children to work hard, "learn a little bit about a lot", give to help others. He had a devoted dedication to anything he believed in and would go above and beyond to help others.

Preceded in death by his parents Henry Siegfred Bonnevier and Maggy Ellesen Walloe. Survived by his children Lisa (Chris) Leon, Michael (Kay) Bonnevier and Yvonne Thomas all of Mobile, AL. Sister Maud Yvonne Patterson of Chatom, AL. Five grandchildren Justin Smith, Makenzie Bonnevier, Christian Bonnevier, Skylar and Mi' lynn Thomas, three nephews and many loving friends.

A visitation for Rolf will be held Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606. Graveside service will be Monday, February 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, 34904 State Hwy 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527.
