

Joseph Alonzo of Mobile, Alabama died February 28, 2025, at his home. He was 40 years old. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway. The family will receive friends prior, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home.
Joseph was born April 24, 1984, in Mobile, Alabama and was the son of Joe and Theresa Alonzo. He graduated in 2002 as Valedictorian at Northway Christian School. He enjoyed cooking and remained on the President’s List with a 4.0 average the entire time he studied. He graduated from Virginia College with a degree in Culinary Arts. He was very smart and proud of his accomplishments. His parents were equally proud! He also worked alongside his dad in his early years and as much as he could his later years. Mostly, Joseph enjoyed sports – including basketball and Alabama football! Another pastime for him was poker. He played with his brother and many good friends. Sometimes, he was quite good at it. He liked to have fun! He was a good, sweet person who knew the Lord!
Joseph was preceded in death by his two wonderful, loving grandmothers, Ann Alonzo and Elnora Gilbert. He was also preceded in death by his Aunt Terri Williams, Uncle Mark Williams, Aunt Gloria Gladney, and Uncle Gary Gilbert.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Joey and Theresa Alonzo; his sister, Amy Alonzo (Micah); and brother, Derek Alonzo (Megan). He is also survived by his grandfather, Ronald Alonzo, Sr.; Uncle Ricky Alonzo (Jean); Aunt Tina Linker; two precious nieces, Anna Kate and Lily Jane Alonzo; and other family members.
Joseph loved getting the chance to be Uncle to Anna Kate and looked forward to loving Lily Jane. He loved all his family dearly!
Joseph will be missed terribly but never forgotten!
