Rose Mary Nims Darby, 92, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1932 in Robertsdale, Al. Rose, also known as “Nanny” loved her family immensely. She was the most selfless woman and will be greatly missed.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Verdic Nims and Annie (Denham) Nims; brothers, Robert Nims, David Nims; sisters, Marie Vaughn, Dean Lassiter.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Darby) Jones Winkle; son, Robert “Alan” Darby; Granddaughter, Angelia Jones Singleton (Chris); Great-grandson, Blakely Alan-Trey Lewis; Two Great-granddaughter’s, Sarah Kathryn Singleton (Andrew) and Lyla Elizabeth Singleton; Great-great-granddaughter, Myleigh Jordan Lewis; as well as nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members and friends.
Visitation for Rose will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL, with immediate graveside service to follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.
