Rossell Antonio Riego

Rossell A. Riego, 92, of Mobile entered into rest Thursday, September 3, 2015 at a local assisted living facility. Funeral services will be Monday, September 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Oakleigh Chapel, Mobile. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Riego was a native of LaCeiba, Honduras and a longtime resident of Saraland, AL. He was born May 7, 1923. Most of his life he was a merchant marine until retirement. He spent many years of his life in different unions. He was a member of National Maritime Union and upgraded to the master mate and Pilots. He was Worshipful Master at Howard E. Palmes Lodge No. 917 and served many years as Chaplain at Bowen Lodge No. 240 F&AM. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mr. Riego was preceded in death by his mother, Belen Riego and his wife, Mary Inez Riego.

He is survived by a daughter, Rosalind (Bill) Robinson of Mobile, two sons, Russell Ray (Maria) Riego of Dothan and Ricky Antonio (Kathy) Riego of Mobile, four granddaughters, one grandson, three great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
