
She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family real estate business and enjoyed visiting and ministering to those in need, especially the sick and homebound. She attended Murphy High School, and was a member of College Park Baptist Church in Saraland. She was married on Thanksgiving Day, 1936, in Pascagoula, MS.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kendrell Cecil Parmer; two sisters, Flossie Cannon and Anna Shortt; and three brothers, Stacy Copeland, Grady Copeland and Gus Copeland.
She is survived by three sons, Cecil H. (Lavada) Parmer, Raymond R. Parmer and Paul V. (Jody) Parmer; one daughter, Doloris Parmer; one sister, Myrtle Harrison; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the owner and staff of Oakland Place in Fairhope for their kindness and loving care of our mother for the past three years.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Mike Bedford of College Park Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers are Greg Parmer and Zachary Conner. Active pallbearers are Ray Parmer, Jr., Chuck Parmer, Joe Parmer, Sean Rowley, Keith McLeod, and Mike Conner.
