Ruthie Fay Wilson

Mrs. Ruthie Fay Winfield Wilson died peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the age of 73. Ruthie is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Anne Baxley Tyler and son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Dale Baxley. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Britton, Kaley, Lailey, Destin and Lonica and siblings; Betty Jean Cain, William “Has” Winfield, Joy Sue Parker, H. Lane Winfield and Yvonne Jordan. She is preceded in death by her husband James Wilson, father, William Gip Winfield, mother, Letra Jones Winfield, brothers; Cecil, Willis, Larry Winfield and the father of her children; Gerald Baxley. She was a graduate of Vigor High School Class of 1962. She worked as a telephone operator with South Central Bell and later retired as a Customer Service Representative with AT&T. She was a beloved member of the University Oaks Retirement Community. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Eight Mile, AL. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service in the Rue Dauphine Parlor of the funeral home.
