Sandra Shurden Majors, age 79, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Tuesday June 18, 2019. Sandra was born January 14, 1940 in Magnolia, Mississippi and grew up in Mt. Vernon, Alabama. She worked many years at Atmore Technical College and retired from Jefferson Davis Community College and the Alabama School system in 2000. After retiring she worked part time at Eastern Shore Family Practice.
She was a devoted mother, friend, sister, daughter and grandmother. A proven, diligent caregiver to her family members (her mother and daughter). She loved the Lord and reading her Bible which accounted for her Christian values. Sandra loved spending humorous times with her family, sharing a funny story or a good joke. Her poodle Spencer was a big part of her life. She leaves a legacy of being devoted and loyal to the Lord and her family. And a great willingness to persevere.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Alison Funk, parents Obie and Alice Shurden, sister Maria Kennedy. Survivors include her children Thomas (Jeanne) Funk, Lori (John) Spillers, sister Margaret Williams, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A visitation will be Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606 with funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Fairhope Memory Gardens in Fairhope, Alabama at 3:00 PM.
