Mrs. Sarah Jackson Walter, native of Stoneville, N.C. and resident of Mobile, AL went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 19, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ralph and Lettie Sue Simmons and brother, Phil Simmons. Mrs. Walter was a graduate of Liberty University and Troy State University. She has served faithfully as a Pastor’s wife for over 50 years. She was a faithful, devoted follower of the Lord who taught Sunday School, led many Women’s Conferences and Marriage Conferences. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Walter is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Edwin R. Walter and son, Dr. Steven E, Walter and his wife Cristy. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kathryn “Katie” Davis (Jonathan), Jordan Walter (financee, Caroline), Molly Rae, sisters, Betty Edwards (Don), JoAnn Murray (Bobby), many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Moffett Road Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m.
