

Mrs. Sarah Jane Moore Williams, resident of Mobile, AL since 1943, was born June 28, 1927 in Pensacola, FL, Escambia County to Amanda and Willie Moore. She was the youngest of two children. Sarah was baptized at the age of eight at the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, Pensacola, FL, Rev. Davenport, pastor. She and her sister, Geneva (Moore) Foster were raised by their grandmother, Janie Lett.
Mrs. Williams married Marion J. Williams of Mobile, and they have two sons, Dr. Harold D. Williams of Silver Spring, Maryland and Melvin D. (Sharon) Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by one grandson Jamal D. (Taraya) Williams, and great-granddaughters Taylor, Layla, and Maya.
Mrs. Williams retired from the City of Mobile Police Department, Traffic Division after 21 years of service on July 1, 1982. In 1968-69, she received a plaque from the Mobile Civitan Club and Mobile Optimist Club as “School Traffic Officer of the Year”. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church since November 26, 1972.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held in Catholic Cemetery.
