

May 27, 1948 – October 27, 2015 Sherry Ann Jackson was born in Biloxi, MS on May 27, 1948 and died in Fairhope, AL on October, 27, 2015 after battling lung cancer. She was the daughter of a career military father traveling with her family throughout her childhood to Japan, Guam, England and military installations around the United States. Their last home was in Tampa, FL where she graduated from Chamberlain High School. She went on to attend Touro Infirmary School of Nursing, where she met her husband, Thomas Edward Jackson. They married on May 10, 1968 in Bay Minette, AL. After graduating from nursing school in 1969, Mrs. Jackson worked as a Registered Nurse at several hospitals in Mobile, AL and New Orleans, LA. After moving to Seattle, WA she chose to leave the nursing profession and join the public school system where she worked as an attendance secretary. After leaving Seattle for Dallas, TX, she joined Sea-Land Service, Inc. working as an Inbound Documentation Clerk and Dispatcher for 15 years and then as a Logistics Coordinator for Horizon Lines, LLC for eight years. She retired with her husband to Fairhope, AL in 2015. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred E. Hall and William H. Hall. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Edward Jackson, one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Jackson) DeGroot (Rob DeGroot), one son, William Thomas Jackson (Hallie Jackson), one sister, Susan Elizabeth (Hall) Crouse, five grandchildren, Ashton Elizabeth (DeGroot) McClearin, Kaelen Leigh DeGroot, Conner Jackson DeGroot, Rylee Ann Jackson, Reid Thomas Jackson and one great-grandchild, Maddox T. McClearin. Mrs. Jackson also had a passionate love for her Chihuahuas, Penny, Noel, Ginger, Tanzie, Ginny, Missy and Brandy. Mrs. Jackson was devoted to and loved her husband and family with all her heart and soul. In turn, her husband and family loved her just as much. She will be missed and will live on in our hearts forever. Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL 36606 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 31, 2015 followed by graveside services and interment at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, Al, 36605.
