
Shirley was born on September 17, 1948, in Seminole, Texas, and spent most of her life in Mobile, Alabama. Shirley graduated from Satsuma High School in 1966, and went on to achieve an Associate’s Degree from Southwest State Technical Institute.
Shirley was predeceased by her mother Jo Varee Ford, her father Solomon Draughn Sr., her stepfather Troy Ford, her brother Solomon Draughn, Jr. and sister Peggy Riddick. Shirley is lovingly remembered by her sisters Betty Davidson (Tommy), Polly Picone (Joe), Mary Calhoun (James), Annie Draughn Azevedo (Steve), and daughter Jennifer Hoffman Pool (Craig), her many nieces and nephews, and her close friends Linda Hiltz and Vickie Turner.
Shirley’s employment included the Corps of Engineers and the Defense Logistics Agency (DAPS). She was recognized by her employers many times for her dedication and hard work.
Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends, and was a wonderful, loving, and fiercely protective mother to her daughter Jennifer.
Visitation will be held on January 28th, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606.
Funeral Services will be held on January 28th, 2016 from 2:00 to 2:45 at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606 Mobile; Interment to follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619.
