Ms. Shirley Mae Morris Sharik - born May 25, 1934, Whistler, Alabama, died October 31, 2012 - at a Mobile, Alabama, hospital, following an extended illness. Ms. Sharik was preceded in death by her mother Wilma Sade Haner Wilkins, grandparents William Leroy Haner & Dora Belle Maxton Haner, all formerly of Whistler. She is survived by Haner cousins and many friends. Shirley was a member of C.F. Vigor High School's first graduating class in 1952, and Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing. She was an RN at University of South Alabama Medical Center and other healthcare providers. Shirley was active in securing National Register designation for the Whistler Historic District and served on the board of Prichard Public Library. She enjoyed gardening & was a pioneer animal rescuer.
