
Shirley L. “Rennie” Taylor, age 65, died on July 24th at Providence Hospital of respiratory complications. She was the daughter of the late Lester J. Taylor and Shirley M. Taylor. Her younger siblings, Linda M. Taylor and Lester J. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Marlene, survived her. Aunts, uncles and cousins also mourn her death as do a cascade of friends scattered from Boston to Houston. Rennie was graduated from Troy State University and the University of Alabama. She served the citizens of Alabama for 35 years in a career with the Social Security Disability Determination Program. Serving God faithfully, Rennie always embraced a church home where her positive attitude and warm greetings made everyone on her pew smile. She did volunteer work throughout her lifetime, serving many years as a hospice volunteer in Birmingham, AL. Finally, who does not know that Rennie could recite chapter and verse of every important aspect of University of Alabama football? Roll Tide Roll! Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in Mobile on Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. and be officiated by the Rev.
