Sister Maria Theresa Ervin, VHM – a 90 year-old native of Japan and resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away at the Visitation Monastery on Saturday, February 5, 2022. She married the love of her life, the late CW4 James Paul Ervin. A military wife, she raised five daughters, and had 10 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, and two special nieces. Upon retiring from Rich’s Department Store, she returned to Japan to teach English at a Catholic school for girls. She lived out her final years as a Sister of the Visitation Monastery in Mobile, Alabama.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Sacred Heart Chapel at the Visitation Monastery on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Visitation Monastery Cemetery. The Mass will be live streamed on the funeral home's face book page, Radney Funeral Home Mobile.
