Sr. Mary Donna Cooper, R.S.M.

Sr. Mary Donna Cooper, a native of Atlanta, GA and a resident of Mobile, passed away on October 30, 2016. Sr. Donna entered the Religious Sisters of Mercy on September 8, 1961. She spent 34 years of her religious life in the education of young children in Maryland, Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Later she became a chaplain devoting her ministry to those who were hospitalized and homebound. Sr. Donna ministered as a chaplain at Mercy Medical and was currently serving at Corpus Christi Catholic Church as a visitation chaplain. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Dorothy Cooper; brother, Edwin Joseph Cooper, Jr; and sister, Eileen Jane Cooper.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with a reception to follow the mass. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Sisters of Mercy Mission Fund, in care of Convent of Mercy, 101 Wimbledon Drive W., Mobile, AL 36608.
