Sue Houston Hanlein, a native of Town Creek, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, died on May 23 at the age of 89.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Lyndon and Dean Houston and her brother Joe Houston, all of Mobile. Survivors include her husband William (Bill) of Mobile; daughter Constance Blevins and her husband Tony of Mooresville, NC; daughter Pat Hanlein of Smyrna, GA; and sometimes faithful cat Sweetie.
Sue’s great passion was duplicate bridge. She was very proud to have obtained the title Life Master. She loved bright colors and loved to wear big fun earrings. Sue was loved by many and was often described as feisty, a handful and quite a character.
The family would like to thank Cathy Eddins Talbot for being a special friend and helper during Sue’s last years. Special recognition also goes to Susan Todd Bailey who was much loved and like a daughter to Sue.
