T. Massey Bedsole

Mr. T. Massey Bedsole – born in Grove Hill, AL August 1, 1917 and died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Bedsole was preceded in death by his parents Judge and Mrs. Travis Jesse Bedsole and sister Nell Bedsole Goodloe (Russell). He is survived by his wife Martha Jones Bedsole; son Travis Bedsole (Susan); daughter Curry Adams (Gary); four grandchildren Preston Bedsole, Edward Bedsole, Ashley Adams Davidson, and Daniel Adams; one great granddaughter Massey Davidson; three nephews Dr. Russell Goodloe (Billie), Dr. Travis Goodloe (Carol), and Jimmy Goodloe (Debbie); six great nieces and nephews, and eleven great-great nieces and nephews. Mr. Bedsole was a 1939 graduate of the University of Alabama, a 1941 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served as a Navy pilot in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was an attorney with Hand, Arendall, Bedsole, Greaves and Johnston for 60 years. Mr. Bedsole was a member of First Baptist Church of Mobile and served as Past President of the Mobile County Bar Association, director of the First National Bank of Mobile, Director of Bank Trust, and Director of Alabama Power Company. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at The University of Mobile and was a member of the Board of Trustees at the University of Alabama, and a member of the Alabama Academy of Honor. On Tuesday, January 4, 2011, there will be a Memorial Service at Noon at First Baptist Church on Government Street followed by visitation. There will be a family graveside service at 3:30 P.M. at Pine Crest Cemetery.
