

Theresa Frances Hardin passed away February 11, 2021, at the age of 86. Theresa was a native of Mobile and attended St. Mary’s grade school and graduated from the Convent of Mercy High School. In 1952, she entered the order of the Sisters of Mercy. She received her B.A. from Mount Saint Agnes College in Baltimore, MD, and her M.A. from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. She devoted her life to the field of education and was passionate about special education. She served the children at Villa Maria in Baltimore and was principal at that center’s Queen of Angels School. After leaving the order, Theresa continued her educational career in Baltimore County, working with special needs students as a teacher, assistant principal and supervisor in the Office of Special Education. Theresa used her exceptional skills and talents to benefit the countless students and teachers she mentored. In addition, she loved being a private tutor for many children. After her retirement, she returned to Mobile.
Theresa was dearly loved by her family and many dear friends and will be remembered for her generosity and devotion to them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph and Florence Hardin, brothers and sisters, Henry Hardin, William Joseph Hardin, Jr., Florence Mary Maslak, Rita Staples and Elizabeth Smith. She is survived by her sister Anne Hall, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was a member of Little Flower Parish. A memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
