Thomas Griffin Beckham - A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, born on June 27, 1928 and died at a local hospital on March 6, 2013 at the age of 84. Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by his parents, Hendon J. Beckham, Sr. and Grace Griffin Beckham; brothers, Hendon L. Beckham, Marion "Beck" Beckham, Harold G. Beckham, and William "Bill" Beckham; and one son, Stephen Thomas Beckham. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bobbie Fortenberry Beckham; three daughters Sharon (Ralph) Fox, Mary (Larry) Ellis, and Dorothy M. Reed; one brother, Rev. Ronnie (Jenimae) Beckham; and sisters, Grace Webb, Helen Hansen, and Peggy (Dr. James) Matthews; grandchildren, Sean Beckham, Jerrod Beckham, Stephanie Beckham, Carrie Sanford, Jennifer Ellis, Ashley Brainerd, and Kailen Sloan. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Mr. Beckham retired from the Mobile Fire Department after serving the citizens of Mobile for over 30 years as a Captain. He is a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Beckham loved his family with a passion and most of all he loved his Lord and lived to serve him and did so by acting as Head Deacon of Springhill Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Springhill Avenue Baptist Church.

Thomas will be surely missed. The comfort in his passing is knowing where he is, and who he's with. What a reunion it must have been.
