Thomas Anthony Fogarty

Thomas (Tom) Anthony Fogarty, 88, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on July 30, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama. He was born on August 26, 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tom was educated at Little Flower Catholic School and McGill Institute before graduating from Spring Hill College in 1960. He served his country as an Army reservist and went on to dedicate 30 years of his professional life to the Social Security Administration.

Tom and his family made their home in Athens, Georgia, where he devoted himself to raising his family and building a life centered on faith, family, service, and community. After his retirement, he and his family resettled to Spanish Fort, Alabama.

A lifelong Catholic, Tom was an active and devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church for many years. He served on the Parish Council and regularly volunteered as an usher. His commitment to his church reflected the generosity, dependability, and quiet service that characterized his life.

Tom was a man who could fix just about anything. He greatly enjoyed do-it-yourself projects around the house and took pride in figuring out how things worked and making them work again. He was also an avid car enthusiast and especially enjoyed running cars for the Joe Bullard dealerships, an activity that combined his love of automobiles with his enjoyment of being around people.

Above all, Tom will be remembered as a family man, a faithful servant of the Lord, and a man who was always willing to lend a hand. His practical nature, sense of responsibility, and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, fellow parishioners, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Frances Fogarty and Adele Fogarty, brothers Bernard (Mary), and John (Jo), sisters Evelyn Paquette, and Jean (Frank) Hall. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Regina Murphy Fogarty, his children, Stephen (Michelle) Fogarty of Brentwood, Tennessee and Denise (David) Quina of Mobile, Alabama and grandchildren, Alex Fogarty, Brandon Fogarty, Matthew Fogarty, David Quina and Caroline Quina. His funeral Mass will be held August 19, 2026 at 11:30 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mobile, Alabama with inurnment following at Pine Crest Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 10:45 am.
