
Thomas Redmond Foster, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, died of natural causes on December 4, 2016. He is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Jane Caffey Foster, his son, Thomas Redmond Foster, III, his sisters, Martha Foster Myers , Agnes Winston Foster and his wife, Rosemary Foster. He is survived by his children, Jane Foster Towne (Robert), John Caffey Foster (Marlea Kitchings), Winston Goldsby Foster, George Gaillard Foster (Emily Bethea), Mary Agnes Foster, nine grandchildren, one great-grandson and nieces, Anne Waters and Mary Burns. A graduate of the University of Alabama, he had a long and successful career at the First National Bank of Mobile, serving in many capacities including comptroller and executive Vice President. He served in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Germany during WWII and Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he served as treasurer and Vestry member for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children, as well as, gardening and baking. He was a man of wit and humor. His grandchildren will miss the Zooper greatly, as well as Swing-Swing. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Paul’s Church on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held in the Parish Hall beginning at 1:00 P.M.
