Thomas B. Hinton, JR., born January 6, 1923 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at his residence in Coden, Alabama. Tom was born and raised in Bowling Green, KY., he moved to Mobile, AL in the early 1940’s.
He was a lifelong devout catholic helping build St. Dominic Parish. He was later a member of St. Rose of Lima parish in Bell Fountaine.
Tom entered the Army on February 1, 1043 at Fort McClellan, Al, and served with the 670 Tank Destroyer Battalion in the South Pacific during WW II. He returned to Mobile and worked for L&N Railroad. He later worked for Liberty National Life Insurance. He opened TRAV Parks RV Campground in 1971 and was still going to his office daily until 3 weeks before his death. He is now driving the golden golf cart at TRAV Parks in the Sky.
Tom was preceded in death by his Wife, Fay Ellen Ingram; a daughter, Shari Len Hinton; a son, Anthony H. Hinton; his parents, Thomas B. and Lena Rose Lucas Hinton; Siblings, Martha Sue Spinelli, Charles C. Hinton, Joe Clay Hinton, Mary Emma Hinton Henry and Norma Jane Hinton;
Surviving are his children, Kim Ellen Allbritten and Thomas B. Hinton, III.; eight grandchildren and 2 great grand children.
The family will have a private graveside service at Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
On Saturday, March 13th, 2021 at noon, a Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at his favorite place Trav Parks anyone wishing to join in his celebration is welcome to attend
