Timothy Ingram May passed away at the age of 60 after a long battle with lymphoma on Saturday, September 16. He was surrounded that day and every day before then by family and loved ones. Tim was definitely a fighter. He fought every day for the past 10 years to get past multiple health problems. This August, Tim decided that enough was enough and it was time to spend his life at home and not in a hospital. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer May and his nephew, Joshua Roper. Tim was supported and is survived by his wife of 40 years Barbara (Cooley) May. They have two beautiful daughters, Michele (Josh) Gilly and Ashley (Russ) Holland. Tim would tell everyone just how proud he was of how they turned out and the lives they are leading. Tim's girls gave him four amazing grandchildren: Julianne, Christian, Isabel and little Pepper. Tim is also survived by his mother, Ann May; brother James (Julia) May, and sister Brelinda (Don) Roper; his loving mother in law, Bootsie Cooley, as well as many many friends and extended family.
Tim retired from the railroad after 35 years of service in 2010. Tim is not just a railroad conductor, he was a Shriner, a Mason, guitarist, Harley rider, seasoned camper, fisherman, rock 'n' roll enthusiast, history buff, friend, father-in-law, grandfather, father, brother, son, husband, and ultimately a great guy to know and have in your life. Tim rocked on for 60 long years-and now he is free as a bird.
