With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tommy Tran of Spanish Fort, AL, who departed this life on April 8, 2026 at the age of 76. Tommy was a man of remarkable character, known for his resilience and kindness to everyone who knew him.
Tommy was born in Vietnam to his parents Chi Tran and Kiem Tran on December 23, 1949. Tommy was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served in the South Vietnam Army in 1975 then immigrated to the United States of America. He met his wife Thanh Van Le in New Orleans, Louisiana and married on June 3, 1978. He graduated from Nichols State University with a Petroleum Engineering degree in 1983 and then retired from ExxonMobil after 33 successful years of service.
Tommy’s life was a testament to the power of hard work and dedication. He moved through the world with spirited motivation and the American Dream. Whether through his career with ExxonMobil as an engineer or his many personal passions, he left an indelible mark on our hearts
Tommy’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a father who led by example, teaching the values of hard work and perseverance. His legacy lives on through his children and the many lives he touched with his generosity. He had a unique ability to make anyone feel welcome, often sharing his love through his stories.
He is survived by his wife Thanh Van Le Tran, children Phuong, Phi, Khoa, Vinh, Jessica, Kathy and grandchildren Amanda, Vicki, Tiffani, Quang, Thanh, Khang, Hunter, Jackson, Emma, Ewan, and Evelyn who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents Chi Tran and Kiem Tran and sister Tru Tran.
A service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow
Tommy Tran will be deeply missed, but his light will continue to shine in the stories we tell and the love we share.
