Virginia Strong Wilkins

Virginia was a founding member of Saint Vincent De Paul’s Catholic Church, where she was an active member. She was the past Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women president, served on the Parish council and was a member of the Ladies Alter Sodality. Virginia volunteered at the Providence Hospital Gift shop. She was a Permanent Burse Club Chair, she volunteered at the Church Annual Spring Festival, and she was a participant of the Annual Joe Cain Trolley Society.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Gregory and Irma Strong; her husband, Marvin “Gene” Wilkins; siblings, Gregory Strong Jr., Patricia Strong (Wiley) Foster, and Earline (Ralph) Kuhn and her grandson Gregory Taylor.

She is survived by her children: Emory Taylor (Mary), Cindy Hendricks (William), Irma Brown (Rick), Jimmy Taylor (Cindy), Michael Wilkins (Regina), Brenda Foster (Ken) and Belinda Faulkner(David); her grandchildren: Christy Atkins (Gary), Mindy Hendricks, Richard Patterson (Bethany), Steven Patterson (Emily), Jamie Patterson, Kimberly Cox (Tyler), Kelli Smith, Brandon Foster, Stephanie Gray (Daniel), Jeremy(Brianna) Faulkner; great-grandchildren: Trea Atkins, William Atkins, Shane Troupe, Breanne Troupe, Taylor Troupe, Jake Patterson, Ryder Patterson, Aislinn Patterson, Maggie Patterson, Johnny Patterson, Thomas Patterson, Jessica Patterson, Josie Patterson, Aiden Cox, Madison Smith, Brooke Smith, Nolan Gray, Varda Gray and Tyndale Gray; and her Great-Great grandchildren, Emersyn Atkins and Cooper Atkins and her sister Thelma Strong.

A visitation for Virginia would be held at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 4980 St. Vincent Dr, Mobile, Alabama 36619 on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 am, the Rosary will begin at 11:45am with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 12:00pm. The Interment will take place at Pine Crest Cemetery.
