Walter Steedly Dean

Walter Steedly Dean, age 90; a native of Woodruff, SC and a longtime resident of Saraland, AL died Monday, September 26, 2016 in a local hospital. Mr. Dean was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II from 1942-1945 stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He retired from International Paper Company and his hobbies included gardening, aviation enthusiast, military history, Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie M. Dean. Survivors include one son, Wayne Steedly (Janice) Dean, Sr. of Daphne, AL; one grandson, Wayne Steedly (Jennifer) Dean, II of Mobile, AL; and two great grandsons, William Steedly Dean and Robert Pierce Dean. The family will receive friends at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 2 P.M. until 3 P.M. followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
