Walter Forrest McRae, Jr., "Wally", age 57, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Walter was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 17, 1964. He graduated from John S. Shaw High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of South Alabama, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Walter worked in the software industry for many years where he was known as a tenacious salesman. He was a "die-hard" Alabama and Dallas Cowboys football fan, attending many games in person through the years, rarely missing a televised game as well. He had a passion for writing and recently put the finishing touches on a screenplay set in Perdido Key, that he started writing in the early '90s. Walter had traveled the world and lived in many places, but his fondest memories were made along the beaches of Orange Beach and Perdido Key. He is survived by his daughter Krista Frame (Nick) and his grandson, Fitz of Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by his parents, Walter and Charlotte McRae of Spanish Fort, AL; his three sisters, Terri Holley (Craig) of Chattanooga, TN; Danna Bramlett (Bill) of Spanish Fort, AL; Jennifer Gordon (Brodie) of Fairhope, AL, six nieces, one nephew, two great-nieces, one great-nephew, his Uncle Tony Griffin of Fairhope, AL, his Aunt Mildred Williams of Denver, CO, four first cousins as well as many wonderful friends in Mobile, Palo Alto, Dallas, and surrounding areas. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM prior to the service.
