Walter Frank Smith Jr.

Frank was born in Birmingham to Ina and Walter Smith Sr. on February 14, 1950. He graduated from Vigor High School and proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy. Frank dedicated over 25 years to Evonik (previously Degussa), where he served as a Day Resource Supervisor. He married Nancy Borcicky on March 24, 2001.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ina Smith and Walter Smith Sr.; his siblings, Mike Smith and Cindy Bachtel; and his grandson, Brian Smith Jr.

Frank is survived by his wife, Nancy Jeanette Smith; his children, Brandy Borcicky, Brian Smith Sr., and Shannon Steward; his beloved cats, Peaches, Pickles, and Monkey; his sister, Vicki Smith (Bill); his grandchildren, Alyssa Steward, Jacob Steward, and Emmalee Hayes (Braeden); his son-in-law, Jeremy Steward; and his dear friends George “Chick” Waltman and John O’Brien.

Special thanks to Dr. Kleinschrodt and Infirmary Cancer Center RN Brenda for their compassion and care. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
