Wanda C Cassity

Born on February 3, 1943, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Wanda was the daughter of George H. Creel and Ava Creel. She later moved to Mobile, where she was lovingly raised by her mother and James C. "Skeeter" Ingram. Wanda graduated from Convent of Mercy in 1961 and remained proud of her Mobile roots throughout her life.

Wanda was known for her selfless and generous spirit, her quick wit, and her wonderful sense of humor. She had a gift for making others laugh and brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew her.

Nothing meant more to Wanda than her family. She cherished family gatherings and creating lasting memories with those she loved. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and the love she shared with them will remain a lasting legacy in their lives.

Wanda was no stranger to hard work. Throughout her career, she was employed by Gayfer's, Metzger's, and Henig Furs. In her free time, she enjoyed watching classic television shows and old horror movies. She especially treasured playing card games with her girlfriends. Wanda found joy in life's simple pleasures and was happiest when surrounded by family, friends, laughter, and love.

Wanda Joy Cassity was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Cassity; her son, Todd McQuillan; her grandson, T.J. McQuillan; and her sister, Georgia Bronson.

Wanda's memory will be forever cherished by her children, John McQuillan, Billy McQuillan (Shannon McLain McQuillan), and Tom McQuillan (Sherri); her former daughters-in-law, Stephanie McQuillan and Shannon Sullivan McQuillan; her grandchildren, Leigh Schubot (Shane), Eric McQuillan, Jack McQuillan, Aidan McQuillan, Andrew McQuillan, Brooke McQuillan, and Blair Summey (Brett); her twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Little Flower Catholic Church in Mobile, Alabama, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery West, 1599 Snow Road South, Mobile, Alabama 36695.
