Shortly after graduating Murphy High School in 1947, Delores enlisted with the U. S. Air Force serving four years in the administrative and clerical field. After the conclusion of her enlistment, she worked for 33 years in the U. S. Civil Service in support of military and contractor operations. Her career carried her to numerous locations stateside, as well as overseas to most of Europe , the Middle East, Southeast Asia, North and South Africa. After retirement, her life was filled with activities with friends and family. She was an avid reader and fan of classic and contemporary motion pictures. She was an individual who led an independent and eventful life. She was loved by all her family and will be missed.
Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Nora Lee Williams her brothers
(and wives), Elvin(Dorothy), Ralph(Jean), Charles(Nann), Ottis(Gerry), and Kenneth(Louise), and her sister (and husband) Ruth Murphey(Bill).
She is survived by eight nieces and three nephews and their families.
A graveside service will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Delores to the charity of their choice.
