William Edward Brooks, Jr.

Mr. William Edward Brooks, Jr. age 85 native of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Brooks, Sr. and Sarah Clayton Brooks, sister Nancy Elliott, brother-in-law James Elliott, cousin Clayton Robbins and nephew Christopher Elliott.

Mr. Brooks was employed with International Paper Company for 43 years as a mechanic and developed a formula that was used to align pipes. He was an avid reader and when he wasn't working he enjoyed fishing from his boat on Chickasabogue creek.

He is survived by his children, Ted Brooks (Nicole), Robert Brooks (Holly) and Denise Thompson (John). Six grandchildren, Ansleigh Townsend (John), Sara Ann Brooks, Annjulie Brooks, Will Brooks, Kellen Thompson and Rowan Thompson, great grandchildren Stella Townsend and Audrey Townsend, niece, Kara Boutwell (Denton) and three nephews Ian Cummings, Brooks Boutwell and Nathan Boutwell also survive him.

Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will begin in Pine Crest Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
