William Henry Ellsworth, III – 84, our beloved father, passed on to Heaven on Saturday, August 11, 2012. He was born on September 13, 1927, in Mobile, Alabama where he enjoyed living, selling land, and being around his family. He attended Azalea City Church of Christ in Semmes, Alabama. He was the youngest of 6 children born to the late Helen Leona Gottschalck Ellsworth and William Henry Ellsworth, Jr. At 8 years old, he began his employment with the Ruberoid Livestock Company while attending St. Mary’s Catholic School. William then went on to attend Murphy High School and McGill Institute. After high school, he served in the Merchant Marines and afterwards became employed for 23 plus years with May Supply Company. Wanting a little freedom and loving land as he did, William received his Real Estate License and began his own company named Ellsworth Realty, selling land in Mobile and Baldwin Counties for over 35 years. Being out among people each day, William saw the needs of those less fortunate and could frequently be found delivering milk, eggs, and other food items. His heart went out especially to those families with small children. William is survived by his 4 children: Mary Elizabeth (Ken) Bolton, Patricia Diane (Sid) Mosley, William Henry (Lori) Ellsworth, IV, and Anne Lee; 7 grandchildren: Lauren Lee, Autumn Lee, Meredith Mosley, Hannah Bolton, John Thomas Bolton, Seth Mosley, and Joey Reed; 2 sisters, Helen Bru and Mary Catherine Ellsworth; brother, Joseph Henry Ellsworth; and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss your advice, your love, your eccentric ways, and your dancing! Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 14, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Wolf Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Azalea City Church of Christ and/or Analytical Research Laboratories at 2225 West Alice Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85021.
