

Mr. William “Bunkie” Harvey Smith. Bunkie was born and raised in Mobile, AL he worked for Barbers Dairy, National Standard Lube Oil, and Hosea Weaver. He was an Elvis Presley fan and an Elvis impersonator. He sang at birthday parties, anniversaries, and church events. Some of his hobbies include cruising with his wife and friends, Dot and Lee Greer, he loved to fish and play with his grandchildren, and attend their sporting events. He also enjoyed writing poems. In his younger years, he was known as one of the fastest runners at Baker High School, he was also an A.S.A. Umpire. He was a former member and deacon of Semmes First Baptist Church, and present member and usher of Crawford Baptist Church. Bunkie was preceded in death by his father William Henry Smith and his mother Allie Butts Smith, two brothers Allen Smith and Jimmy Smith, two sisters Ethel Smith, and Allie Boles. He is survived by his wife Linda of 50 years, his daughter Kimberly Smith Scarborough, son Bryan (Renee) Smith, seven grandchildren Zachary Scarborough, Joshua Gomien, Caleb Smith, William “Turner” Scarborough, Noah Smith, Delaney Scarborough, and Hannah Smith, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Saturday October 25, 2014 at 11AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 until 11AM. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
