William Dan Kruse

Bill was born on September 18, 1943, and lived a life centered around faith, family, friendship, service, and love. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Those who knew Bill knew that he loved deeply, gave generously, and never met a stranger. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and the memories he created with them will be treasured forever.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army, answering the call to serve with honor and dedication. His commitment to serving others continued throughout his life through his Masonic brotherhood.

Bill's Masonic journey began at Spring Hill Lodge, where he was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on December 5, 1972. He advanced to Fellow Craft on December 26, 1972, and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on January 9, 1973. He proudly dedicated more than five decades to the Masonic fraternity and faithfully served his Lodge and his Masonic brothers. On January 9, 2023, Bill was honored to receive his 50-Year Masonic Pin, recognizing 50 years of dedication and brotherhood. He was also a proud member of the Scottish Rite. His commitment to the principles of brotherhood, charity, integrity, and service was an important part of the legacy he leaves behind.

Bill later dedicated 37 years to Delchamps, where he worked his way to become Vice President of Retail Operations before retiring. His strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication were a reflection of the man he was.

Outside of work and his service to others, Bill enjoyed the simple things that made life special. He loved playing softball, golfing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends. Whether he was on the ball field, golf course, riding his motorcycle, participating in his Masonic brotherhood, or gathered around those he loved, Bill was happiest when he was surrounded by people who meant the most to him.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Versie D. Kruse; father, Roy Kruse; and brother, Roy Kruse Jr.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his children, daughter Kelly Kruse Fuqua (Jason) and son Billy Kruse (Robin); grandchildren Chase, Amanda, and Brittany; and great-grandchildren Palmer and Cooper. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Dianna Imsand (David), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, his Masonic brothers, and countless friends who were blessed to know him.

Bill's greatest accomplishment was not found in a title, career, or position, but in the love and kindness he gave to the people around him. He loved his family fiercely, cherished his friends, served his country and his community with pride, and loved deeply. His smile, laughter, stories, wisdom, and unconditional love will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort knowing that Bill is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, reunited with those who went before him. His life was one of service—to his country, his Masonic brothers, his family, and all those fortunate enough to cross his path.

Rest peacefully, Daddy. Your love will live on through all of us. Until we meet again, you will forever be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
