

William C. Parker, Jr. passed away June 12, 2026 after battling illness for several years. He fought the good battle, but was ready to go to his heavenly rest. He was born on June 16, 1940 in Columbus, Miss.
He was a graduate of MS Southern College and obtained his Masters at Auburn University. He was a career employee of the State of Alabama, as Manager of the Employment and Unemployment Services for 40 years. He retired in 2006.
He met his wife, Susan, at a Christmas Party in 1988. They married in May, 1991. He is survived by his wife Susan; his children, Melinda Ladnier and Clay Parker (Kathleen); his brother, Larry Parker; grandchildren, Madeline (Sam), Wolfe, Cassandra, Wyatt, and Evelyn Parker, and Daniel Smith; son-in-law, George Smith; and great-grandchildren, Owen and Caleb Wolfe.
He was a member at Christ United Church, and he loved his church family. Bill was most relaxed at home with family, although he loved to go to functions with Mardi Gras. He and Susan were members of a small Mystic Society, and he helped with many projects for the organization. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He loved to play golf with his friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, William Clayton and Gladys Parker; and his step-daughter, Amanda Smith.
His funeral will be June 17, 2026, at Pine Crest Funeral Home, located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and the service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
