William Franklin “Frank” Spann, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. He was born to James Franklin Spann and Lavonia Thornton Spann in Opp, Alabama on May 14, 1945. Frank was an entrepreneur. He was the owner of Southern Truck and Equipment Sale, and would rent out storage containers. Frank loved fishing, boating, motorcycles, and cow farming. He was a Member of The Baptist Chapel.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Aliene Spann and Mildred Duane Littlefield; and one brother, James Daniel Spann.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Nachtwey Spann; one son, William “Randy” Spann (B.B.); grandson, Andrew Wayne Raley (Miranda); two granddaughters, Emily Elizabeth Spann and Marisa Grace Spann; sisters, Liz Dursema, Peggy Wiggins, Opal Pitts, Debra Anderson and Wanda Clark (Austin); a sister-in-law, Rebecca Campbell (Tom); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Frank will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
