Willie Cohen "Bill" Smith Jr.

Willie Cohen “Bill” Smith, Jr. – a 61 year-old native of Louisville, GA and resident of Chickasaw passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a helicopter pilot. He retired from Stauffer Chemical as an operations manager after many years of service. He was also the owner of the Tarpon Club in Mobile. He was a wonderful husband and devoted father who will be remembered by all as a good man that was willing to help anyone in need. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Shawn Smith. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly Ann Smith; children, Valerie Smith Brewer (John) and Joey Thornton; brothers, Dennis Smith, T.Y. Smith, and John Woodworth; sister, Mary Fay Smith; grandchildren, T.J. Smith, Billy Smith, Courtny Smith and Timothy Shawn Brewer; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 21, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
