Winifred Ann Langham Cecchi was born on July 17, 1937 to James and Ethelyn Langham. She gained her heavenly reward on April 2, 2026 after a battle with dementia. She spent her young life in Pascagoula, Mississippi before meeting and marrying the love of her life. She and Louis Cecchi were married September, 9, 1956. They welcomed two children, Lee & Zelinda. Winifred and Louis had a long and happy marriage for 49 years until he passed from lung cancer.
Winifred was a loving wife, mother, mawmaw, sister, and friend. She was a devoted member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church for her entire adult life. There she volunteered in many different ministries including keeping cemetery records. Winifred loved to sew and make floral arrangements. She cross stitched many cherished items for her family.
She is survived by many family members and friends including her children, Lee (Amanda) Cecchi, & Zelinda (Keevan) Spivey; Grandchildren, Dustin (Ellen) Mizell, Amy (Bradley) Tart, Brooke (Zachary) Murphy, & Gino Cecchi; Great grandchildren, Daelyn (Brayden) Dunagan, Wyatt Horne, Caroline Tart, Courtney Tart, & Lucas Murphy. Great-great grandchildren Archie Dunagan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; her parents, James “Elbert” Langham & Ada “Ethelyn” Langham; one sister, Faye Langham, and one brother, Elbert Langham.
Winifred loved Jesus and was a faithful follower of Christ. She will be remembered for her great care of her family and dedication to the Lord. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and sewing.
A graveside service will be held at Palestine Cemetery in Wilmer, Alabama on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 11:00AM.
