Celebration of Life service for Yancey Harold Alston, 70, will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2019 in the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home with Bro. George Williams officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation from the hours of 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Friday, August 23, 2019 at Pine Crest Funeral Home, Mobile, AL.
Yancey Harold Alston was born October 7, 1948 in Mobile, AL to the late Yancey Webster Alston and Bertha Presley Alston. He passed surrounded by his loving family August 21, 2019 in Mobile, AL following a courageous battle with cancer. Yancey was a member of Wilson Avenue Baptist Church, Saraland, AL. He enjoyed extensive travels with his wife Regina. They would spend time on cruises and boating. Yancey loved spending quality time with his family and being a grandfather. He served this grateful nation by enlisting in the United States ARMY, and was employed with the Alabama National Guard for thirty-five dedicated years. Yancey was a Motors Sergeant with the 161ST Medical BN. He received several Military decorations, to include the ARMY Commendation Medal. Yancey will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Left to cherish wonderful memories of Yancey will be his beloved wife of forty-one years; Regina Moody Alston, one son; Tyler Alston and wife Elizabeth, two grandchildren: Alex and Ava Alston, along with numerous extended family members, work family and, a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Yancey as pallbearers will be Joseph Nelson, Timothy Gibbs, Nick Wilson, William Smith, Eddie Wiley and Donald Robinson.

The family would like to extend their deepest and sincerest gratitude to the PCU Staff of USA Medical Center, Dr. Molly Deshazo and team at UAB, Dr. Mac Gottlieb and Pat Davis of Pulmonary Associates, Wendy, Melissa and Domekia George of Comfort Care Home Health, Dr. David Clarkson, Dr. Thomas Butler, and Blair Pringle of Mitchell Cancer Institute, Harriet Waters and nursing team of DIP Dialysis Center, Darrell and Angie Butters, Joe and Leslie Nelson, Tim Gibbs for the care and compassion expressed to Yancey and the family throughout the years during our greatest time of need.

I remember meeting Yancey and thinking how tall and he was forever our "Dan Tanna". He was a true gentleman! He loved his family! We have so many wonderful memories and will forever be treasured. Thank you for your service to our country !
