Kenneth Lee Ross, 75, passed away on Wednesday November 06, 2019 in his home in Boron, California.

Ken’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday November 22, 2019 at Boron Bible Church, located at 26904 Nichols St., Boron CA. A luncheon will follow at the Boron Senior Citizens Center, located at 27177 TMT Road, Boron, CA.

Ken Ross was born in Bakersfield, California to Claude and Lillian Ross on December 14, 1943. He attended high school in Arvin, California. Ken grew up in Lamont, California until the age of 17, when he moved to Boron, California. He married Mary Louise Pollock on October 27, 1962 in Boron, California. Ken and Mary Lou were happily married for 57 years. He was the proud owner of Ross Construction where he worked as a general contractor. There wasn’t a thing he couldn’t build or fix. Ken was heavily involved in the betterment of the town he loved so much; he helped build Boron’s Aerospace Museum, as well as the 20 Mule Team Museum and several other projects throughout the years. He was also a proud member of the Amargo Cruisers Car Club. Ken loved restoring old cars to their former glory. He personally restored two beautiful cars; a 1929 Ford Model A and a 1966 Ford Mustang. Ken was a hard-working man that represented strength and integrity in everything he did. He always had a great attitude and witty remark or phrase ready to use. Ken loved his family, his country and helping other people.

Ken is survived by his wife Mary Louise Ross, his daughter and son-in-law Mashell and Terry Stevenson, his two sister and brother-in-law, Irene and FO Roe, his sister Helen Barnhart, his granddaughter and grandson-in-law Jenna Martinez and Charlie Martinez, his grandson Jerek Stevenson, and his nieces and nephews.

Ken was forever thankful for the family that chose to donate their members’ kidney 4 years ago. Ken always appreciated the doctors, nurses and staff that helped him along his journey. He always found time to tell stories and get to know them. In lieu of flowers, please take a moment and share your memory of Kenny so the family may keep in a memory book.

WILLIAM CLARK

November 22, 2019

I met Kenny and Mary Lou back in September 2018 when I moved here to be closer to my mother. Kenny Ross and I became friends and I considered him like a father. I worked for Kenny and Mary, and Kenny always show me the way that he would want the work done, and then he would always say afterwards that it's a piece of cake. Kenny, I will always cherish our time together, our talks that we had at the City of Hope about life and death. You kept telling me that it's a piece of cake going through everything, and that your biggest concern was the welfare of your loving wife Mary Lou. I made a promise to you back then, and I will always keep it. Kenny I will always love you and miss you, and you will always be DAD to me. I love you Kenny and Mary Lou. Your adopted son William Clark

My name is Joan, I met Kenny in November of 2014. I met his wife Mary Lou while trying to find work. I Thank God everyday from all my learning experiences that Kenny kept prying into me. I would do things one way and then he would show me his way "always" ending it saying "Just a piece of cake". Kenny and Mary Lou accepted me into their family as if they had known me all my life. These TWO most Wonderful Loving and Devoted friends literally brought me into their family. I am saying that I loved Kenny for Kenny, and I will be hearing that it's a piece of cake for the rest of my life. Kenny and Mary Lou saved my life, they took me into their hearts. If not for them I probably wouldn't be around to be able to talk so highly of anyone. They solely took me in, made sure that I had a place to sleep and food in my stomach. Since that day on, this has been my family. I will deeply miss Kenny and his sense of humor. I will forever love you and respect you. Joan

Kenny was my little buddy, both hated liver and onions, but loved steak, made double duty for Marylou. Chuck and I will cherish the plus 20 yrs of friendship and all the "Piece of Cake"s Kenny gave us, ie--all His knowledge on what ever he knew. My greatest enjoyment is knowing that we will see Kenny again in the Glory Land, Til we meet again.

Love you all and you know I am heartbroken over the loss of Kenny. I will always remember him as one of the best men I ever met. I was lucky to be "adopted" by your family and have him in my life. He would do anything for those he loved and I was on the receiving end of that time and time again. He will leave a hole in my heart, in my life, in all our lives. I love you Dad and will miss you terribly. Mashell and Mary you know how much I love you. Anything I can do to help, or make this time easier, you can count on my. xoxoxo
