She is survived by her devoted children: Jason (Autumn) Consolo, Kristen (David) Branly, and Jesse A. (Nelly) Consolo; and her beloved grandchildren: Gianna, Kylee, Gabriela, Aiden, Cruz, and Dominic, who were the light of her life.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Miller.
A loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend, Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, showering them with affection and wisdom. She faced muscular dystrophy with remarkable courage and grace for many years, inspiring those around her with her resilience and unwavering spirit. Her passion for music filled her soul, and she often found solace in singing, with a particular fondness for Mariah Carey’s Hero, especially the verse: “There’s a hero, when you look inside your heart, you don’t have to be afraid of what you are.” These words reflected her belief in courage and self-acceptance, qualities she embodied and shared with those around her.
Barbara’s warmth and kindness touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Services will be held privately by Barbara’s family. Arrangements are entrusted to Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL. For further information, please contact 708-534-8256.
